We delved into Scotland's industrial history once again for inspiration when we designed the Bastille Chore Coat and in particular Scotland's often overlooked textile industry. Cotton & linen mills were once found all long the east coast of Scotland, though sadly only one remains in Kirkcaldy, Fife...so naturally we gave them a call!
Linen is really nice and instantly makes us think of summer. Let be honest though, Summer in Scotland is rarely warm. That's why we lined our coats with striped Ikat fabric handmade in India for a subtle bit of colour and a little extra warmth.
Finally we finished the coat of with natural corozo buttons made in England by the the last remaining button maker on these isles. All made in a limited edition in Scotland.
